    Mauritius
 
         - Panafrican News Agency (Dakar), 13 March 2001. The Chagossians
	   are demanding two million US dollars in compensation from the US
	   government for their displacement. The US Sociologists were in
	   Mauritius to assess the living conditions of the Chagossian
	   people. The government does not admit that it has caused wrong
	   to the people. Shocking living conditions.
 
  - US and British genocidal acts to make room
    for a military airbase

	   October 2004. Almost 1,000 pets were rounded up and gassed,
	   using the exhaust fumes from American military
	   vehicles. The islanders took this as a warning; and the
	   remaining population were loaded on to ships, allowed to
	   take only one suitcase.
