The highest form of hypocracy

By Opoko Matek MacAyeeKakoo, Chairman Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC), Matek's Commentary, 1 June 1998

Citizens of The World:

Over the weekend Ohio U.S congressman Mr. Tony Hall (D) was in Southern Sudan to see first hand the supposed dilapidation cause by Sudanese troops who are now advancing and infliciting heavy losses on SPLA rebels in the Bar-el Gazel Province. The Congress man noted that he was shocked to see villages that had been burned down and pathetic lines of starving children at feeding centres run by aid groups.

He told Journalist in Nairobi that the world had forgotten about the Sudan. He added “ We've put pressure on Bosnia and Ireland to bring about a solution—but here (in the Sudan) they've lost a million people and the world doesn't press the two sides to end the War”. The congressman further noted that there are close to 700,000 people in desperate need of food and that they are now eating ROOTS!!! He promised to call U.S President Bill Clinton and inform him of what is happening in the Sudan.

It will, indeed. It must be recalled that it was the current United States administration in Washington DC which, by pursuing, rather promoting, militaristic policies on the People of Sudan, created and continue to flame this war in southern Sudan.

The United States policy makers in Washington D.C instead of identifying peaceful avenues through which Sudanist Southern “Issue” may be resolved, opted to instead offer SPLA rebels Military training ( at KABONG IN NORTHERN UGANDA under the guise of training peace keepers), as well as military logistics so that this Rebels may continue to fight a war against the established authority in Khartoum; a war which they will NEVER WIN!!! As a consequence of this rebel action and in attempting to distablize the Sudan, the wrath of the Sudanist Government forces have now been unleashed on poor DINGA Sudanist citizens; the whole 700,000 of them!

Congressman Tony Hall is basically shedding Crocodile tears when we hear that Today he is concerned about the welfare of Sudanist people. They ( The U.S) should have thought of the consequences of War on the Local people before plunging with full force to support SPLA rebel activities against the government of Sudan.
