Subject: Nubians are they the founders of nile valley civilization?

This was a topic of discussion at an informal gathering of Nubians, and many ideas and questions were raised on which views diverged. We would like to share these questions with you all hoping very much you join and contribute because many of those who joined in this discussion feel that the real role of nubians in the rise of the Nile Valey and black African civilizations should be reassesed and rewritten.

Stay tuned for our next dispatch ...??!!

Hi...

Actually I'm working one this issue for the last 5 years.. some of what I gathered I've put as a Web Pages
(see Http://www.achiever.com/freehmpg/nubian)....

I believe there is a lot to say and add ...Respectively I've booked a sizable Web Space for Nubian Affairs and the outcome of this upcoming discussion could be a page on this Nubian Affiars Home Page...

Regards

  1. who are the Pharoahs and what part of the Nile valley did they originally come from ?
  2. Many Pharoahs bear similar physical features to modern Nubians: Are there any relations between them or are they one and the same?
  3. where did the Egyptiantion civilization originate in the first place? and why there?
  4. Where was the northern limits of Nubian domain throughout ancient history?
  5. Was Kerma Civilization in particular contemparary to egyptian civ., or was it and Meroitic Civ. an offshoot of egyptian civ., as it is usually claimed.
  6. Nubia, Kush, Ethiopia are names that had been applied to an extensive part of northern and NE Sudan: are they different names for one area? Who first used and applied them? What Geographical extent of each?
  7. is there any link between the Hieroglyphics and Nubian languages?
  8. In general was the transfer of cultures in the Nile valley from north to south or the other way round?
  9. How far south into the Sudan did nubian influence spread in the past?
  10. What is the relation between the Nubians and the Noba Tribes of the Nuba Mts.of south central Kordofan ? How this relation came about? is it by migration ? if so at what time and in what direction was the movement: From North to south or vice versa? In what form does that relation manifest itself: linguistic or physical?
  11. Nubian place names as a source of study of former Nubian extent in the Sudan.
