International Scholars Urge The Need For Ethiopian Manuscript Archive

Addis Tribune (Addis Ababa), 2 March 2001. In a dramatic academic move revealed this week thirty-five internationally renowned scholars of Ethiopian studies, from 17 countries, urge the importance of Ethiopian manuscripts, and signed an Ethiopian Manuscript Manifesto supporting the initiative of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies in building up a comprehensive archive of photographic reproductions.

Palaeontological Collections Center Opens

Panafrican News Agency (Dakar), 5 April 2001. A centre for the preservation and study of palaeontological collections of Omo valley, Southern Ethiopia, has been opened at the National Museum of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa (brief).
