Underwater Fibre-Optic Cable Installed in Mauritius
By Nasseem Ackbarally, Panafrican News Agency, 18 November 2000. Mauritius Telecom Saturday started the installation of underwater fibre-optic cables in Bay Jacotet. As of February/March 2001, these cables should house the SAFE fibre-optic network (South Africa-Far East) which will go from Cape Town. The network was set up on a Telkom South Africa initiative in 1993.
NGO to Sensitise Parents Against Internet Pornography
Panafrican News Agency (Dakar), 28 March 2001. Halley Movement, a Mauritian non-governmental organisation, will launch a sensitisation campaign on Internet pornography, targeting parents.
