As it was discussed in the national conference of the National Commission for Democracy in Mexico, we expect that the local committees organize their own delegations to the Peace Camps. As an individual we expect that you contact your local Chiapas committee or that you start organizing one if it does not yet exist locally. What is important is that you organize yourselves and send people to Chiapas who are reliable and who can responsibly come back and integrate themselves to the local work that must continue. Also what is important is that we keep an ongoing flow of people to Chiapas in the near future and in the long run, since the conflict would seem to be extended through the low intensity warfare being waged by the Mexican Federal Army against the indigenous people and the democratic movement throughtout the country. We have to also keep in mind that the worsening economy in Mexico makes it much harder for the Mexican people outside Chiapas to have the necessary money for the preservation of the Peace Camps, increasing the importance for the international participants. I have had a lot of requests for one or another document that I have put in the net, so at least I am including a listing of all the documents, their numbers and the dates they were listed in reg.mexico in peacenet. Through the titles or the dates you may be able to track all these documents in other listings, including list.chiapas in peacenet, or chiapasl, chiapas95, or other listings in internet. If you cannot find particular documents, please request by title, number and date and I will forward copy, thorugh E-mail. Remember this information is only as good as we are able to transfer it to paper and share it with our communities and all the people who don't have access to computers and are not hook into your cyberworld.

Como se discutio en la conferencia nacional de la Comision Nacional por la Democracia en Mexico, esperamos que los comites locales se organizen en delegaciones a los Campamentos de Paz. De individuos esperamos que contacten sus comites locales de Chiapas o que empiezen a organizar un comite local si todavia no existe. Lo que importa es que se organizen a si mismo y que manden a gente con la que se pueda contar y que sean responsables en regresar e integrase al trabajo local que tiene que continuar. Tambien es importante que se siga mandando gente a Chiapas en el futuro cercano y a largo plazo puesto que el conflicto parece extenderse debido a la politica de guerra de baja intensidad que el Ejercito Federal Mexicano esta llevando a cabo en contra de los pueblos Indigenas y la represion contra el movimiento por la democracia en todo el pais. Tenemos que tener en cuenta que el empeoramiento de la economia en Mexico hace mucho mas dificil la participacion del pueblo Mexicano afuera de Chiapas pues no tienen el dinero suficiente para mantener los Campos de Paz, aumentando de esa manera la participacion internacional en esos campos de paz. He tenido muchos pedidos de diferentes documentos que he puesto en la red cibernetica. Por lo menos estoy incluyendo una lista de todos los documentos, con numeros y fechas que he puesto en reg.mexico en peacenet. A traves de los titulos pueden buscar todos los documentos en otras listas incluyendo a list.chiapas en peacenet. o chiapasl, chiapas 95, o otras listas en internet. Si no pueden encontrar algun documento en particular pueden pedirmelo por numero, titulo y fecha del documento y les puedo mandar copia del documento por correo electronico. Recuerden, esta informacion solo sirve si la pasamos en papel y la compartimos con nuestras comunidades y toda la gente que no tiene acceso a computadoras y que no esta conectado a su mundo cibernetico.

Please provide information on your past political/community work, how you were selected by your local committee to be a participant in the peace camps, information on your local committee or organization, why do you want to participate in the peace camps and for how long, and send the signatures of the committee members who approved your representation to the peace camps (This you will need also when you go to the Fray Bartolome Human Rights Center in San Cristobal) and the date of the meeting when you where approved as a representative. As soon as possible send this information to Carmina and Eduardo and to the Fray Bartolome Human Rights Center.

This and past communiques will be posted in the next few days in Spanish.

Por favor provean informacion de su pasado trabajo politico comunitario, como fue seleccionado por su comite local para participar en los campos de paz, informacion sobre su comite local u organizacion, poque quiere participar en los campos de paz y por cuanto tiempo, mandando copia de las firmas de miembros del comite que aprobaron su representacion en los campos de paz. (Tambien necesitara esto cuando asista a el Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Bartolome en San Cristobal)), y la fecha de la reunion donde fue aprobado como representante. Lo mas pronto posible mande esta informacion a Carmina y Eduardo y al Centro de Derechos Humanos Fray Bartolome.

1.We need volunteers to transcribe songs in Spanish and translate them for a Compact Disc which is being produced to benefit the National Commission for Democracy in Mexico.

2.Also, i am looking for volunteers to help do the scanning of pictures and organize the covers for the CD print material and the film which goes on the cd itself. Most preferably this volunteer work must include someone with the technical experience and access to scanning and computer equipment needed. Let's talk discounts on this computer work if you are able only to cover some of your volunteer work.

3.There will be CD's distributed thorough the local committees' for this fundraising work and we ask from each committee that you let us know how many you can distribute in your community. The cd's are going to be15 per cd plus shipping.

1. Se necesitan voluntarios que transcriban canciones en espanol y traducirlas al ingles para un disco compacto que sera en beneficio de la Comision Nacional por la Democracia en Mexico

2.Tambien se necesitan voluntarios que puedan transmitir fotos a computadoras y organizar la cubierta del disco del material impreso y la cubierta del mismo cd. Se necesita alguien con experiencia y con acceso a la tecnologia de computadoras para este tipo de trabajo. Hablemos de descuento si solo parte del trabajo puede ser voluntario.

3. Se distribuiran los CD's a travez de los comites locales y pedimos a cada comite que nos diga cuantos cd's pueden distribuir en su comunidad. El cd sera de 15 por cd mas costo de correo.
