Grenada media workers refute charges of sabotage

CANA 25 April 2000

St. George's, Grenada, CANA - As a strike at the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN) entered its fourth day Monday, employees were refuting charges that they had sabotaged the station's equipment. The Network has quoted General Manager Hamlet Mark as saying the engineering department is reporting deliberate tampering of equipment in both the television and radio studios. But shop steward Martin Redhead says there is no truth to the allegation and describes it as an attempt by management to detract attention from the real issues of concern to workers.
