Movement alert! A warror's child has passed

December 12th Movement, 21 December 1997

On Friday morning, December 19, 1997, LISA TAYLOR-LEMON, 43, the eldest child of life-long Movement activist VIOLA PLUMMER, finally succumbed after a valiant 4-year struggle against breast cancer.

Lisa was an activist in the Bridgeport, Connecticut community, with a particular focus on the development and consciousness of Black children. Lisa leaves three children of her own, Tehira (13), Salim (11) and Jelani (7). A celebration of Lisa's life will be held in Bridgeport, Connecticut at 11 a.m. on December 22nd.

Those who knew Lisa and know or have heard of Viola Plummer, member of the New York 8+, co-founder of the December 12th Movement, the Sunrise Collective, the African Liberation Support Committee and the Harriet Tubman Fannie Lou Hamer Collective can send their condolences:
