In the past two months, tens of Iraqi women prostitutes have been beheaded in public. As feared, the attacks have widened in scope to include all dissenting women. Recently, a woman doctor, Nejat Mohammad Abdullah, who objected to methods of drug distribution, was beheaded.
In protest to the Iraqi government's unprecedented brutality, the Worker-communist Parties of Iran and Iraq, the International Campaigns in Defence of Women's Rights in Iran and Iraq, and the Middle East Research Centre have organised an international campaign.
We urgently require funds to pursue a more comprehensive and expansive international campaign to force the Iraqi government to stop the brutal murders. We urge all organisations and individuals who have supported our campaign to urgently assist us with financial donations.
