More looted relics to be auctioned off

The Straits Times, 11 October 2000

THE highest price Christie's expects to fetch is HK$10 million (S$2.3 million) for a 19.6 cm Qing dynasty white-jade vase with extensive trellis work. Despite a sale of looted Chinese relics that drew condemnation from Chinese officials who paid millions to get them back, Christie's predicted it can auction off more pieces this month without incident.

I think that matter has been resolved. That matter is all in the past, Mr Anthony Lin, the chairman of Christie's Asia, said as he offered a preview of the 200 ancient and antique ceramic and jade items going on the block in Hongkong.
