Uygur Bomb-Makers Executed in Xinjiang

[CND, 06/29/01] Xinjiang authorities executed two Uygurs convicted of making bombs and accepting foreign funds for separatist activities, agencies reported.

According to a report by the local radio, the two, Wusiman Yimiti and Maimaiti Reheman, were executed on Tuesday after a public rally in Urumqi, capital of Xinjiang. The radio also said that the two took orders and funding from foreign ethnic separatist forces, experimented with explosive devices and made explosives. (Dong LIU)
