  - Chinese made first use of diamond

	  craftsmen in China were polishing jade objects using diamond
	  2,000 years before anyone else had the same idea, about 2500
	  BC.
- China had first complex machines
- BBC News, Thursday 10 June 2004. Craftsmen in
	  ancient China were using complex machines to work jewellery
	  long before such devices are traditionally thought to have
	  been invented. Spiral grooves on 2,550-year-old jade rings
	  must have been made by a precision compound machine.
