‘Newspapers and Magazines of the German Trade Union movement in the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation’

Labnet, 22 December 1998

The library of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation has put together a catalog of the Newspapers and Magazines of the German Trade Union movement in the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation in honor of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the German Trade Unions. This documentation contains over 1,500 catalog entries, with publications from the central German Trade Union organization, the individual trade unions, and their preceeding organizations.

The library of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation has grown in the last few years into the library in Germany with the largest collection of Trade Union materials. The library presently administrates the library of the German Trade Union, as well as the libraries of some of the individual trade unions and the libraries of some international trade union secretaries.

The magazine collection is fully catalogued. Further, the user will find here a list of all the Trade Union papers that the library has microfilmed in the last years.

This list will remain in the coming years one of the most important research aids for the study of the history of the German Trade Union movement.

The brochure is free and can ordered from the
