US Military Official Meets With Ethiopian
Excerpt from Military Officials, VOA News, 22 February 2003. The commander for U.S. forces in the Horn of Africa region has met with Ethiopian military officials during a three-day visit to Ethiopia. The US considers Ethiopia a valued partner in the mission to detect, disrupt and defeat terrorists in the region, particularly Somalia.
US Begins Training Exercises With Ethiopian National Defense Forces
Addis Tribune (Addis Ababa), 11 July 2003. Forces from Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) have begun a three-month bilateral training exercise with Ethiopian National Defense Forces; skills for both anti-and counter-terrorism missions. The U.S Army will also assess and conduct initial coordination for a variety of civil-military operations.
