Stand up against racist attacks!
AAR/ARA, Montreal, News Release, 14 October 1999
Last summer, in a series of vicious attacks, a neo-nazi gang savagely beat people in bars and on the street without provocation. They used pepper spray, baseball bats, knives, brass knuckles, and steel batons to injure their victims. They were especially fond of beating people of colour, the homeless, gays and lesbians, and anyone that they suspected might harbour anti-racist sentiments. Over 30 people went to hospital emergency rooms as a result. Police have charged these fascists with four of these attacks. All together, the eight face 240 charges. Police also seized silencer-equipped assault rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammo and racist propaganda from this gang. The pre-trial (which lasted 3 days) for these arrests was held last March - where boneheads taunted the witnesses, intimidated the victims, brought up to 25 of their friends with them, and jumped a Montreal SHARP member with a baseball bat on his way to court! WE CAN'T LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN! On October 12th these nazis are being brought to trial.
