Remember Fred Hampton & Mark Clark

National People's Democratic Uhuru Movement, 3 December 1997

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

December 4, 1997 marks the 28th anniversary of the assassination/police murder of Brothers Fred Hampton and Mark Clark. We must not forget that these brothers were murdered in cold blood by the Chicago Police Department in its effort to stop the Black Panther Party for Self Defense from unititng with organized gang families and therefore unifying the people.

As you know Fred Hampton Jr. is a political prisoner in Illinois, accused of attempting to firebomb a Korean store on Chicago's South Side. The people are continuing to demand justice for Brother Fred. The days have long been gone when African and oppressed people will be beaten down and silenced.

On December 5-7, 1997 the National People's Democractic Uhuru Movement will host its 6th Annual National Convention at the Fred Hampton Uhuru House, 409 S. Halsted. Workshops will discuss ways to end police brutality, how the U.S. uses prisons in the war on African and oppressed people, a look at the current state of political prisoners, the land grab issue, the miseducation of our youth and the criminization of Black people, among many others.
