Barak, leader of Labor Party after Perez, assassinated Abu Jihad, PLO's #2, to crush Intifada

MER - Nearly a month ago shortly after he was first elected over Shimon Peres to head Israel's Labor Party, MER first reported that Ehud Barak has spent the past decade attempting to crush the Intifada. One of Barak's major initiatives was the assassination of the PLO's #2 man, Abu Jihad, in Tunis in 1988, during the first year of the Intifada. Now there is confirmation of this from the Israelis -- see the AP report below.

During the assassination Abu Jihad's body was riddled with dozens of bullets as an Israeli woman commando videoed the entire event.
