Guangxi to check on minimum wages

The Guangxi government and Federation of Trade Unions agree that in the future government will check strictly on the payment of minimum wages. If employers do not follow minimum wage regulations they will be punished. The enterprises most likely to offend in Guangxi are restaurants and related industries.

Since 2000, the labour department in Guangxi has received 23,000 labour dispute cases, of which over 10,000 involve in salary disputes. There is increasing number of cases on salary disputes, and they increase in number on average 116.5% per year.
